"I bought a worry stone for my sister when she was going through a really hard time, and she hasn't put it down since. There's something about holding it that just works. Sinthia has a gift for making things that feel like a hug."
Create. Connect. Choonie.
Every piece is handmade by Sinthia. No two are exactly alike, just like the people they're made for.
Choonie started in a bedroom on the bottom floor of a house, with clay dust on every surface and a very long Spotify playlist running in the background. Sinthia Sarathy, a Licensed Social Worker and therapist based in New Jersey, started making things the same way she processes everything, by doing it with her hands.
The name goes back to something she made up as a kid. Choonie meant anything soft, a little ridiculous, and completely worth loving. That still pretty much covers it.
Sinthia works as a therapist and she knows firsthand how much small physical things can help. Something you can hold. Something that makes you smile when you walk past it. A weird little clay dog in a party hat sitting on your desk. These things matter more than people usually admit.
Every original Choonie piece starts with Sinthia and her hands. Some products are reproduced from her original designs so more people can have them. Either way, the idea, the art, and the character behind every single piece is hers.
"Art and emotional wellbeing have always been connected for me. Choonie is just me giving that connection a name and a party hat."
Sinthia Sarathy, Founder & Licensed Social Worker, NJ

Sinthia packed up her handmade pieces and took Choonie on the road for the first time. It went really well.
Every piece begins as a feeling. Something Sinthia needs to make, or a person she's thinking about. Sketches on napkins. Notes on her phone at 2am. The best ideas start weird.
Polymer clay, tools, and total concentration. Sinthia shapes each piece by hand, no molds for the one-of-a-kind work. This is where the idea becomes a thing you can hold.
Into the oven it goes. After curing, each piece is sanded, sealed, and painted by hand. Details added one by one: rosy cheeks, perfect tiny lines, little hats.
Every order is wrapped by hand, packed with tissue paper and a personal note, and sent out like a gift, even if you bought it for yourself. Because you deserve that.

"Got the Cheenie Weenie for my desk and it is genuinely the highlight of my whole WFH setup. Everyone who hops on a video call immediately asks about it. It's weird in the best way. I love it so much!"
"I ordered a Trinket Tray and the Clown Dish as a birthday gift and the person genuinely lost their mind over them. The packaging alone was a whole moment. Everything about Choonie feels like it was made with actual, real love."
